I was wondering how much you guys have paid for scheduled maintenance, what all is included at each interval, and at what kind of intervals do you have to go in for it? I know some cars have to go in for valve adjustments every 30k and timing belts every 80-100k but since the renesis doesnt have any of that what the heck do you take your cars to the dealership for!?

Just wondering how scheduled maintenance costs for the rx8 stack up against other cars.

at 6600 miles my schedule maintenance are two oil changes - one at 39.95 and one at $24.99.

 

do they list scheduled maintenance in your owners manual? if so, what kind of stuff do they recommend you doing/having a dealership do, and how often? (aside from oil changes )

Change the oil every 5,000. The car gets some sort of service every 15,000 miles. At 15k it was about $250.

 

Actually the manual, if I remember correctly, calls for first maintenance (besides oil change) at 7500 miles.

 

Eh. Everybody's using Schedule 2, I thought. 5k milles or 4 months, whichever comes first. That is an oil/filter change and to lubricate the locks 'n' hinges.

So far, my scheduled maintenance (and unscheduled maintenance) has cost me a total of $0.00 (Pre-order goodness) [rub-rub]

 

every 3000 miles @ $25.99, three so far!

 

I just had my Scheduled Maintenance today for $40 Cdn. Got some extras today ... 2 bottles of touch up paint. Yee haw!

 

Do you guys change your own oil or do you have to let mazda do it for the warranty to still come into play?

 

duh,
buy a jack and some jackstands. i have 23k miles on mine and it has been to the dealer for recalls.

this is the lowest maintince car in the world. i change the oil and filter at 5k miles rotate the tires and make sure the brakes arent dicked up.

at 15kmiles i put in a green air filter.

all is good.
