I recently discovered my driver side door speaker is blown and wants over $1000 CAD to replace it anyone know what other models (Mazda 3, cx-5.......) use same speakers so I might be able to get one cheaper? Hard to find wrecked rx8s around me

 

Are you sure the speaker is blown?
The door speakers have their own amp, and usually the amp relay goes bad.(about $2)
It's pretty common.
If you can take the door panel off and do a little soldering, you can maybe save yourself some money.
There's a DIY thread on it that can walk you through it.

 

Door panel isn't an issue, I'll check it out. I'm going off what my brother in law said he knows more about speakers then I do. Do you have a link to that diy?
