Hi I have a 2004 2.6 petrol at 67000m... I have had problems with shuddering when stopping at lights ect loss of power.. Just had a diagnostic done and showed up no codes, plus no dash lights have come on. Was told that it may be the MAF. Today every time I stopped it cut out and would not start... Called out roadside assistant who unplugged the MAF, then it showed all codes to do with the MAF, plus was backfiring. They said the MAF was fine but there was a loud sucking air noise under the bonnet when in neutral Reving at 2000 revs... They said theire is air being sucked into the engine from somewhere but could not determined where????

Back to a garage in the morn but wanted to see if anyone has had this problem or knows what this can be....
I am female, read up about this car before getting it, don't do my own diagnostics or repairs but keep up all the checks, replacements and repairs when needed!!!
Normally it's a good reliable car which has never flooded or let me down.

Sounds like your average ignition problem. You can try cleaning the MAF, you can buy a spray bottle of MAF cleaner, don't use anything else. However, suggest you get a compression test (with a proper compression tester, like at a dealer) and if the engine checks out, go for new ignition coils, wires and spark plugs.
