Angry RX-8 oil filter wiring question?

Hi guys. So I brought my RX-8 in to this place to change the oil and get a new oil filter. After he replaces the filter and I take it home, I discovered that some of the wiring close to the filter has been bent and squished. If you look closely at your oil filter, there are some wires wrapped with duct tape near the filter. The ones in my car now look like someone squeezed and pulled them with a wrench. The mechanic also pushed the duct tape back exposing some of the wiring. I'm not an expert on wiring, so I don't know if this could create some sort of electrical problem or cause a fire. Should I take it to the dealer? Or is this not a problem with wiring in cars? Thanks.

Does it look like any of the wires were damaged?? Any exposed bare conductor or does the insulation look intact?? If no damage is evident, all should be fine. Just remove the old tape and re-wrap with a quality vinyl electrical tape. One other thing, if the wires look like they have pulled at all find out where they go and makes sure nothing has become disconnected. Hope it helps. Greg
