Question Rust - who has it?

who has any on their car.? I noticed some on the lip in the rear driver's side. Of course right away the stealership tells me its because it was started by a rovk chip. Imagine that...a rock chip in a wheel well. I think that is garbage for a three year old car. I used to drive a crappy Neon that didn't show rust until year 8....and I bagged that car. This one gets taken care of and washed at least twice a week in the winter.

You are saying you have a rock chip *in* your wheel well? You should have plastic covering your entire wheel well.

I have an 05 and the only rust I have noticed is on the painted center hub of the brake rotors. But, my 8 doesn't go out in bad weather very often.

rust in az

Nothing lasts long enough to rust in Arizona, it burns up under the heat of the sun and the lack of water.

Nah. We have plenty of water.
Its Las Vegas that has the rolling water restrictions. Here, we just turn on the hose and let it run all summer.
Its only the people that burn up...

BTW - You mis-spelled "Interceptor" in your sig.

Add some aluminum to your rust...insert magnesium and light with torch...

Rust magically disapears before your eyes!

Let's see... If you jack my car up and crawl underneath you will find a small amount of rust on the removable cross braces at the welds. That's it as far as I know.

The original poster is talking about the rear wheel fender lip rust. If you winter drive your RX-8, you will have this problem. You guys are laughing now, but your car will soon have the same problem unless it never sees moisture. It comes on quick and is quite severe. I had the dealership repainted mine.
