rotor dead
rotor dead
i had a problem with my car 2 days ago, put the first gear , then second one and nothing no power and a very strange noise fron the enmgine , brought the car yesterday to the dealer and apparently and rotor is dead , he said that he will make some compression test and let me know what is going on ..... to be continued .... the car has 50 000 miles and 2004
I have an '04 as well and just received an addendum to the warrantee... The rotor core (including seals) is now covered for 96 months or 100,000 miles, whichever is first. Hopefully it's something that is still covered!
new engine here you come!! Sorry to hear about the engine going so quickly but hopefully the new engine will be better then the original.
Let us know the results of the compression test.

I'm thinking about going to the dealer and getting a compression test done, and if anything is off, hopefully they will replace. I am getting a turbo shortly, so I better do that before I install it. My car runs great, but you never know.
Secondly, what if it died on me on a road trip, it seems like everyone's engine just goes all of a sudden, no warning. True though, it isn't so scary bad anymore, definately a lot cheaper.
I've got some awesome news guy , i talked to my mazda dealer this afternoon and i will get a brand new engine under warranty , thank you mazda ...... i will get my car back this week or next week , i'm so happy !!!!!

If the tow was done via roadside it is reimburssed upon determination of power train failure. If you didn't tow it back with roadside you might have a fight on your hands.
The warranty covers the engine from the purchase date to 96 months or 100K miles which ever comes first..it dose not start again when you get a rebuilt motor.

There has to be a min. warranty on the engine though. 20K-30K miles maybe? I dunno. They would have to warranty the engine core for some time I would think even if it weren't under the power train anymore.
