another bullshit

the SSV stuck issue is a known problem. Mazda has an updated part (a stronger spring, new gasket and a longer bolt and some other crap) that's supposed to help this problem.

I think you should take your car somewhere else, I mean if you don't know/not sure about something, do some research(talking about the service manager), cuz everybody start from somewhere, but pulling bs out and try to blame it on other stuff just makes me sick.

It kicks *** at everything else.
NA FC engines can pull 250K miles without a single issue.

Mazda underestimate a lot of things on this "new(not so new)" design. they changed the side seals, changed the corner seals, changed the apex seal height (almost 1/2) changed the spring rate. etc.

they did a lot to try to help the problem, I remember they updated the Apex seal spring force to make it stronger. I guess it should be able to help the compression.

Fuel consumption, it does use more fuel, but consider Mazda is the only company really working on it for the past 43 years, it's really good already.

hmm, people drives Oversize SUV, Hummer, etc. Do they need to drive those tanks? nope. I would say 99% of them don't. it handles like **** and eats gas like there is no tomorrow. why don't people bitch about that?

Yea thats what I thought. He told me about the updated part. And they offered to clean it but I think they were just gonna open the uim and spray carb cleaner in there. I just decided to do that myself so I know it was done right. And the price helped sway me too

Considering my 2009 Sport automatic averages 23 mpg overall and it hasn't needed anything other than oil changes, air filter, and spark plugs in 32,000 miles, I reject this characterization....

People expect the horrible gas mileage from those. People expect these cars to get great gas mileage since it's a car, and don't look into it any more than that.

He might've just meant top fuel, as the highest octane, premium fuel, they have. But it's VPower. It's what I always run. Hell, I wish I'd gotten a picture, running it for years in my Mx6, the intake valves really were spotless clean, even approaching 200,000mi. Then again, I did always keep up on maintenance with her too..

I do not mean to hijack the thread but I noticed there is only one station around here that serves %0 Ethanol mix at 93 octane. It's an Exxon this way more expansive for premium than the other places. Will it hurt to use the %10 Ethanol gas and save a few dollars or just go with the %0 and eat the cost?

^.................. well, that debate rages on, so I say you can use either. Think we all know that 0% would be better, but not all that available anymore.
Do some searches for more info...........and don't threadjack no mo.

if they have 0% garbage (read:Ethanol), even if they cost 30 cents more or even a buck. I will have no question and go to that station and ONLY that station for my 8's fillup.

too bad that will never happen(at least not foreseeable future) in NY State(or NYC)

They actually don't expect gas guzzling to be a factor. it wasn't until the gas price spike couple years ago. they they "realized" holy crap it cost me 120 bux every fillup !

For some reason, V power gives me the most horrible MPG. it could be just that station near my gf's house. who knows?

Performance wise is really stronger ... at least that's what my butt dyno was telling me.

Had some BP today, they probably clean the tank or I don't know what they did, but seems to be getting a bit more mpg ... dunno for sure.
