I am trying to get information regarding R&P gears that fit in my differential. I currently have 4.4:4 (auto trans) gears and i want to change them to an r&P that's more suitable for freeway driving. I've heard that the fd rx7 r&p with 3.9:1 gears will fit. I am looking for an interchange in the 360 - 370 gear range. If anyone knows anything about these interchanges ; please let me know. I will need to know the year , make & model of the vehicle that has the interchangeable gears ; this will be a great starting point for me.

 

A taller gear than a 3.9 to fit an RX8; what are you trying to achieve overall? Is the car being modified in other ways? Are you trying to get better mileage? I imagine that you may have already done much of the homework regarding the effects of going that tall with your gearing.

Hi Paul ; i don't have an rx8.I have an rx8 differential . The diff is in my 2006 miata along with a 2007 4.0L Mustang v6 engine & a 5spd auto trans.I want a gear that will make my car more streetable .Sometimes i drive on the freeway. I was thinking maybe 3.7:3 gears or 360s. I am building an everyday driver ; not a quarter mile or track racer.Got any ideas ?? Do you know of any interchanges ??
