thx for the info guys, im searched the forms and, to me, it seems that this combo is not all that special. i'm not sure i want to pay for 2 pieces of intake when i could just buy a ms cai for the price of one part of the revi system, and get the same results

it's a GREAT intake. closed box design + air duct = more cold air for your engine.

Ray: too bad we can't get your car to CA.
Would be fun to do some comparisons betweeen our two cars.
Speaking of which: I'll probably call you later today. Got a proposition for ya

What results? Mazda made an awesome CAI that comes on the RX-8 stock. Lots of people have tried to make a better intake but can't. Unless you are some kind of fluid dynamics engineer, leave the stock intake alone and put a K&N panel filter in.

There is one thing I would like to mention with the RB intake since I'm noticing more and more people with used RX8s!
If you decided to purchase the RB intake, make sure you don't have an aftermarket intake (like MS or AEM).
The installation will require some components from the stock setup like the accordion tube (MAF tube), hose clamps, grommets, a screw and a spacer from the bottom intake tray.
If you are missing these components, you'll need to also purchase them before you install the intake. I was lucky and only needed a hose clamp, screw, and spacer... but I'm the original owner and had my stock intake stuffed in a closet.

i got a issue of performance and audio mag, they did a test on racing beat products on a 05 rx8 6spd with 50K on it. the revi had a 6hp increase with another 2 for the duct. so tht combo gives u 8. then there cat delete pipe added another 10hp!. so now we at 18. and there light weight single muffler gave another 3hp. so tht is a 21hp increse. so the revi combo or even just the revi is a good avanue for the N/A ppl. but u wont get more then a extra 40hp outa the car with N/A. wit intake, pulleys, flywheel, ignition solution, and a reflash.
u want power. go F/I

yea, they only tested those products. non of the compition i.e. aem cai. AP exhaust, borla, hks, greddy. no other mid pipe like RP or even a custom stright pipe.
but i hope there is a numbers increse versus the air box mod( i did it on my car and felt/herd nothing)

Objective product comparisons are going to be one of the hallmarks of what Jeff and I do in AZ. We are not interested in designing/selling mods and products that have no tangible value to our customers. Besides, MM is a sheer dyno ***** and I'll never be able to pry him away from it so I better find a way for us to all benefit from his dynamometer dalliances.
