The Retrofit Source: Morimoto XB LED Fog Light Housings for Mazda.

Morimoto released their XB LED fog light housings into the market for plug and play housing swaps covering MANY manufacturers. One literally unbolts their fog light housings and bolt on Morimoto's XB LED fog light housings. The reviews are positive from "experts of lighting" and I definitely agree having seen quite a few of them. Cut off is sharp, light throw is wide and even, light output is crisp LED white and very strong. These lights are one of the best dedicated fog lights I've seen with the Land Rover Evoque LED fogs coming in close (which is saying a lot).

Unfortunately, The Retrofit Source and Morimoto do not provide a plug and play option for Mazda. I have requested TRS twice and they are finally considering the application with Morimoto. I sure as hell want these in my CX-5 and RX-8 because our factory H11 housings are damn near worthless in any situation, especially fog.

If anyone is interested, please support the official request I have made on their forum.

TRS already confirmed that they bought an H11 housing for R&D.

Any update on the dogs? I see trs has made production of it. It doesn't say it fits the 8. Do you know if it will fit our application.

They fit the RX-8. I got two sets, one for my CX-5 and one for my RX-8. The output and cut off is phenomenal. True fog lights (finally).

Not my own pics. I'll take some eventually (don't hold your breath). The twin glass projectors with blacked out surrounds look great in person when lit.

I installed these today. It was pretty straightforward, its just a bit of a pain to get to the top screw. I used a shorty screwdriver, and a fair amount of patience. They look and function great. I replaced the stock HID bulbs with some Morimoto 5500k bulbs to match the color temperature of the fog lights. It looks a bit off in the picture, but that's because the headlight housings are hazy and I need to clean/polish them. But that's a project for another day.

Also, TRS added 04-08 RX-8 to the applications list. Its a direct fit (unlike that Miata link above where they had to make a modification, none of that needed for us).

Wow! Nice! Do you have any pictures taken from the inside of the car, just to give us an idea how it looks like from the driver's point of view?

6 months in and I'm still happy with them. Not to butter TRS up, but I can honestly say these are the best TRUE fog lights I have ever seen.

Bump. I know there's little interest in these foglights from RX8Club, and it was discontinued. We got them to kick start another batch of 300 sets, which is now on pre-order.
