Replacing a replaced engine?

Just curious...if your original motor was replaced out of the warranty period but within the 100k miles mark, and then within the next 2 years the new refirb. engine that you received goes bad as well, does Mazda replace the replacement as well? Or is it a one time deal?

So long as it is before 100,000 miles or before December 31st, 2011 then Mazda will replace your motor for free. But, if it is after the 100k miles, it's all on you sadly. If my fiance burns through another motor I am going to make her trade it in.... on the 4th motor in the car somehow in less than 70k miles...

^ Yep. I got a reman at 22,000 miles. That reman lasted 74,000 and then I received my second reman at 96,000 miles. I am now at 117,000 miles and if it fails I am SOL.

I see. So if you get a remanufactured one within 100,000 miles of owning the car, the new one (and any subsequent replacements) can be replaced up until you pass the 100k mark. Then after that it's your problem. But the remanufactured engines are just as suspectible to failure as our originals eh? Not very encouraging...

Yep, the are just rebuilds, not everything is new. Each one is evaluated when it gets to the engine reman plant. But either way a reman is still missing an oil injector and still has lower oil pressure than needed. Not to mention some of the rebuilding seems sloppy. My current engine has silicone oozing from between the housings and had some dripped on the inside of the oil pan and on the oil pressure regulator. In my opinion anyway.

You do get the updated water pump though

not always rebuild

if they're out of Engines, they will ship one from Japan.

Omar (NYC drift king) got a brand new Engine from Japan a little while ago.

Well my Engine is working fine, its a Reman, I never know the compression numbers on it, I wanna know, so I ordered the Mazda's Compression tester, its **** load of money and its on back order now.

I have about 14K miles on the Reman now. as soon as the thing comes Im gonna test it, just to see how good is the reman.

Cool, let me know how it tests. Yeah Cornholio135 got an engine straight from japan as well when they dumped the cat reman plant and had a back order. Pisses me off, I was so jealous. My first reman was from the cat plant.

search for threads by Sleepy-Z, he worked at the reman plant but basically it has a green tag on the block. He has a description of how to tell in one of the threads. He was asked to stop posting here though or risk losing his job.

The engines coming from the Mazda rebuild plant are good.
My original engine went at 13K in 2005. The replacement, new from Japan, went bad at 23K in 2006. The 3rd engine, a contracted rebuild, went bad at 45K in 2008. My present engine is a Mazda rebuild and it is doing great.

Factory Engine, Japan or Reman, it really depends on the luck. everything at the factory are pre-cut/pre set and if u're lucky, you will get an engine with the proper spec.
