NJ Replace actual heater core vs. entire HVAC AC/Heater unit

My heater core is busted and I am left with the reality the my dash will have to be torn down to get heat for the winter.

I have an actual heater core which would require the dash and the HVAC system to be disassembled. On the other hand, I may be able to pickup an antire HVAC unit (attached to the reinforcement bar) which would require the disassembly of the dash and only the removal and replacement of the HVAC system.

Which path should I take? (The answer does seem obvious, but still)

Thanks

Take the first path.

Its not hard to take the whole dashboard apart, I did it before. Its just very time consuming.

Just dont loose any bolts/nuts in the process. and remember where they go.
