Rear fog light install instructions?

I am considering ordering the JDM spec rear fog light, and using it to augment my back up lights. My car has a 30% tint, and backing up in a dark parking lot is a bit of a challenge!

So, has anyone here installed the rear fog? If so, directions (and pics if possible) would be really helpful! Ideally, I'd like to wire it into Mazda's factory plug ins and switch locations...

Cool Fog....

Oh, you don't even wanna KNOW how much trouble that thing is to install......

Installs from behind.(bumper & back of car comes off)

On big brackets.

No wiring, have to run new, all the way to the dash ( unless, like you say, you tie it into the 'reverses')

And like Matt says, it will make VERY little diff, (another low red light to help the two whites?)

Maybe more to be gained by replacing the stock 'reverses' with some HALOGENS? Hard to get a ticket for that, if they only come on in reverse.....

I have the JDM spec fog light now. I can scan the Japanese version. Has not install it yet. Same as Steath said. You have to take off the front display, the steering coloum casing, the driver side plastic, the rear end and the bumper off - not to mention to cut it. I think I have to ask Mazda to install it for me - it will be at some cost.

I am glad mine's factory fitted. A forumer reported big time effort to cut and mount. He gave up on the switch and wiring and tied it to the brake lights instead.

As for help lighting up the rear. Forget it - it's red and mounted low and won't help.

It IS a big job to install the full fog light kit.
On the other hand someothers have just installed the light and switch, and run one wire to tie it in, instead of the full complicated kit.

Anyway, if anybody wants the instruction document, plus some translation I got done form Japanese email me and I can send it to you as a PDF.
