Rack & pinion do it yourself!!
In another thread I was told that I can fix the Rack & pinion myself.
I can't seem to find the thread. Click here for threadCan anyone let me know how to do it or maybe show me the right thread?
This would be greatly appreciated
Thanks,

If you don't want to read the whole thing - there is a poor connection, just below the rad overflow pipe. Coolant gets in and the contact gets 'iffy'.
Mazda has a replacement wire for the area, its about 18", with new ground contacts etc., but dealers don't seem to know about it.
If you're out of warranty you can tighten the grounds and cut out the big connector and solder the actual wires together. (Someone who knows how to solder can save you a wack'o'cash.) You have nothing to lose - if the steering is still intermittent, you still need a rack.
Don't forget the obvious, clean and tighten all the battery connections first.....
