Quick RB Oil Filter Plate Question

so im installing gauges and have the sandwhich plate for the oil temp/press gauges. i searched and everyone says that you have to change your oil when you install this plate. i just recently put new oil and a filter in.

my question is can i just take off the filter put the plate in and put the filter back on? save me 9 bucks a quart on royal purple

since all the oil will be in the sump and there is no pressure in the lines there should not be more than whatever is left over in the filter to drip out. correct?

lemme know guys, thanks!

^yeah that sounds about right to me...u would just lose all the oil in and around the filter.....I would say you could.....especailly since it's RP oil it's not cheap...

yeah, that should be fine.
just have a rag near the oil filter when you take it off so you don't drip oil everywhere.

what kinnda gauges?????
