question about oil level going down

hey all I have one question I last serviced my 04 rx8 6spd leather plus when it had 34,000k I changed all the oils engine ,tranmission & diff with royal purple 5w 30 oil and diff with the recomend one I can't rembrr the weight but cut the long story short my car has now 40,000k's and I checked the engine oil level and the was just past the half way mark is this normal for a rotory engine or should I get it checked out my cars due for a 40000ksevrice cheers ken

Yes, the Rotary Engine consumes oil. Most people add a quart of oil after 2,500-3,000 miles. I tend to add half a quart after 2000 miles and change my oil at 3000.

Also, it might not be such a good idea to run Royal Purple in your transmission since there are numerous reports of it destroying your synchros.

hey thanks for the note on the trnsmission I'm gonna be going back to the using the mazdaoil or is there a better oil I can get I like to get the best if anyone can recomend me some oils would be a great help thanks

Use Redline MT-90 for your transmission, Redline 75w90 for Rear Diff

Engine oil use 5w40 Redline or 10w40.

I do NOT work for Redline.
