hey guys i have a B&B test pipe and a catback on my car. it obviously has the CEL light on becuz the cat is gone. But lately i've had problems starting my car. The problem is that i have to crank the car for several seconds before it starts. it doesnt happen all the time but it happens once in a while. So i took it to the dealer for them to check it and they wouldn't check it becuz of the CEL light. They said the reason for the long starts at times is becuz the CEL light is on and therefore the computer automatically thinks its running too rich so at times it doesn't have enough fuel etc. to turn on. do you guys know wat i could do to make this problem go away?? I heard there is an extender for the o2 sensor that i can buy for the CEL light to go away. By any chance if you guys know where i am able to purchase it plz tell me. THanks guys

Don't remove your cat and not have the o2 sensor hooked up and expect them to correct your FU

well the thing is i want to keep my exhaust system. so if there are any other recommendations plz feel free to share thnx guys

ohhhh okay then. i guess i'll try that. btw, im kinda new wit my car and my hands. hahah what do i need to disconnect the \neggative battery thing?? i need to wear gloves right?? juss incase the battery wont shock me. hahaha anything else??

You won't get a shock from 12 volts.

But if you try disconnecting the red one first, and your wrench touches another part of the car while still connected to the terminal, some pretty nasty stuff will happen.

lol well i juss did it and i have to say some good news. MY CEL LIGHT IS OFF!! but i think its only for right now. hopefully it'll NEVER come back on. hahaha but yea.. at first i disconnected the battery. YAY!!! FIRST TIME EVER. IT WAS QUITE SCARY. then i let it sit for aroudn 5-10 minutes. then i plugged it back in and turned on my car. it was kind of scary at first wen i turned on my car. when i turned it on, my dsc light was going on nd off and the sign about the car nd its tire tracks was on too. also, at this time when i turned on my car, the engine started at around 2k and went down to like .6k. it was some weirddd stuff but later it went back up to aroudn 1k. So after that i turned off my car and let it sit for around a minute. then turned it back on and the dsc and the car thingy sign were still on. i tried turning off the dsc button but it woudln't do anything. so then i took out my car for a test drive. while driving for around half a mile the dsc light that was going on and off STOPPED!! hahah and but then the light of the car and the tire tracks was still on. so i kept drivin my car for around 2 miles hoping it would go away nd it didn't. then i stopped on a red light and decided JUSS TO TRY nd turn off my car and turn it back on. so i did and WAH LAH!! EVERYTHING IS BACK TO NORMAL!! yay!! some good suspenseful stuff huh?? hahah well thnx guys!! hopefully this will hlep my problem wit my long cranks. we'll see in the long run wether i get my CEL light back on. thnx again guys.
