problem :(
i own a 2005 mazda rx8. 32000 miles. i brought it in last week to get it painted and the guy moved it early in the morning, was pretty chilly too, and he turned it off right away. he calls me later asking if there was a trick to turning on my car because it wouldn't start. i immediately thought it might have flooded. i have tried many things to get it going. we hitched and pulled the car and and it wouldn't start. i did the mazda manual way and didnt work. i pulled the fuses and that didnt't work. i even bought new sparkplugs and nothing. IDK wut to do?? can it still be flooded or something else?? i also cranked the car while the plugs were out so that the crap that was in there could have come out. some stuff came out, i clean the holes, and i put the plugs back in but still nothing. my engine light stays on when the key is on the ON position. the car cranks and cranks but won't start. and yes my battery is nice and charged. any tips??

first make sure your plugs are not FOULED.
then go remove the the vacuum nipple cap on the Lower Intake Manifold, put a tube to it. at the other end dip it into a cup of Engine oil or 2 stroke Premix.
Pull the Fuel pump fuse and go crank your engine, if you do it right the vacuum should suck the engine oil in and your car should start for a second or 2 until the fuel burns up.
then put everything back and start your car.
or you can always try to push start it.

thanks. i think i've seen a diy somewhere on here for that. i also did try push starting it but nothing :/
I just had bad visions of people using the nipple on the upper intake manifold behind the throttle body for the VFAD.
That would be a bad bad thing.
not likely..they can just be a pain to get unflooded. my bro flooded mine while I was out of town for work. He tried several different things, but the thing that got it was hooking up jumper cables, holding the gas pedal down and cranking for 5-10 seconds, letting the starter rest, repeat 3 or 4 times then try starting without the gas pedal pushed down. I guess the gas pedal being depressed 100% shuts down fuel during start too.
There was a DIY for this procedure too. May have to keep trying it up to 10-15 times before it will clear out.

after you de-flood your car, chances are some of the fuel will end up inside your CAT. so when you start your car. its gonna start cooking it ...
you might want to look into that

nothing worked and today was just standing there trying to think of ideas. then thought about maybe adding some fresh gasoline and see if that would help at all. when i started adding gas, it all leaked out on the floor. turns out that the car ran out of gas somehow, and somehow the hose to the gas tank was disconnected
. so fricking confused..
haha. but now got it fired up and running and shouldn't be too long before ill have it on the streets
