Power to the windows after the key is off
OK.....I'm not really good about reading the owners manual from cover to cover, so forgive me if y'all already know about this.
I have had my car for about a month now, and I just now noticed tonight that the windows will still operate after the key is in the off position (or maybe I already had the key out??? )
Anyway....I know that there are other cars out there that have this "feature". I owned a Chrysler Sebring back in 1995 and that car did that so I am familiar with it. I just didn't know the 8 had this little convenience.
I don't know how many times in the summer I realize that I did not leave my windows cracked to let some of the heat out of the car while it sits parked until after I already have the engine shut off and the key out.
Just thought I'd share this little discovery in case you guys have not noticed it yet.

I have always liked this feature in a car. My only problem is that I foget the window is still open until after I open the door. Power is cut at that point.
I have a slightly different question along the same lines. For the RX-8 you have to put the key in the ON position to use the windows and not the ACC position. Most cars I have used in the past have the windows on in the ACC position. I didn't place the car in the ON position unless I was staring the car. I have been told that leaving a car in the ON position when not running can be bad because the car is reading to start (fuel pump may be on, RX-8 air pump on, etc.) does it hurt the RX-8 to be in the ON position for a little while?
Thanks,

ok, checked it out, I do have about 45 seconds or so, to get the windows.. but The moonroof is off as soon as the engine is off. No delay.
Also, anyone notice how far the tilt button opens the roof? It opens mine only about 1"... I can get it open much further by using the slide button..
