Ports different between auto and manual?
Hi all,
Does anyone know if there is a difference in the port sizes and shapes between the Auto and Manual RENESIS engine?
The power is quite down for the Auto, but the Torque is up from the Manual.
Thanks.

Yes, the automatic (low power) only has 4 ports. The manual (High Power) has 6 that open up at the high rev ranges. I belive the ports are the same size, its just different tuning for the torque variance.

Yep. And don't forget, the 5th and 6th ports open up at rpm ranges that the auto/low power version doesn't even reach. And without having to make compromises to accomodate for airflow at the higher rpms, the designers were able to tune the engine for a little better low rpm performance, which is why it has a little more torque.
