Pinging Problem? Solution?
Pinging Problem? Solution?
Well, we discovered a simple way to reduce the propensity of a given car to ping.
Car in question was a local "problem car" for the Canzoomer module. Had a real tough time stopping it from pinging. It even pinged sometimes stock!
Maurice put in the new "8" heat range leading plugs (available from your Mazda dealer).
No more pinging!
Sorry, I can't keep track of the exact plug number - I'm sure one of you will know that and post it. Use the same number your current leading plugs have, just replace the 7 with an 8.
Remember, the leading plugs are the lower ones. They can be easilly changed from the top. First get a zip tie and secure all those silly hoses out of the way by loosely tying them to the A/C pipe close to the firewall.
Those of you living in colder climates should change these new plugs out for the hotter ones when the weather changes back to winter.
