If you need even one new housing that will cost you $700.00.

i see what you mean. much appreciated bro thanks

If you want to be sure of a good engine, go to a reputable rebuilder. There is no cheap way to rebuild these engines right. NONE. End of story.

okie dokie. im just gonna look around dallas for a good used one with low miles. maybe from an 08-09 or something newer.

You need to do some more research instead of competing in e-peen contests. You can't use a series 2 engine in a series 1 for example.

Edit:anything is possible but that's stupid to attempt

im still a little sceptical in the price of a new one though. why would a used engine sell for 200 less than a brand new one from the dealership? im just asking?

I'm not sure what you are asking here.

There are NO brand new engines any more. The new engine assembly line in Japan has been shut down for a while. EVERY engine, even a "new" engine from a dealer is still a remanufactured engine. Every single one.

Because you are asking questions and refusing to listen to the answers. Very few people on here have patience for that.

I've never seen a junkyard one priced higher than about $1,500, and he was smoking when he listed that price. Junkyard prices are typically around $700-$900.

So no, they aren't the same price.

i got that much in my pocket right now and i would probaly get to keep my core so i can see what the whole fuss is about. but really some engine on ebay go for a nut and a half.

for example 04 08 Manual Mazda RX8 RX 8 Rotary 1 3 Engine 64K Miles C | eBay

i was gonna buy one on ebay just wanted to see how much they went for.

Yes, that price is unreasonably high. Asking price is different from selling price.
