Owner's mannual says filling oil over the F mark may cause engine damage. I over filled it by about 1/2 quarter yesterday. Will it cause damage?

I know I can drain a little bit out but it would be massy. If I drive like this will it cause damage?

 

Only if it leaks into the turn signal fluid.

If that happens, you have a huge problem.

 

Dealers overfill it all the time. I don't think anyone really knows where the "real" danger zone is. 1/2 quart is probably not a problem.
