Ordered Racing Beat Screens

I figured since corportate mazda was so nice in replacing my ac condenser, that I would protect the investment with the Racing Beat screen kit. The $97 they charge for the ac cond' and the oil coolers seem well worth it, compared to the $750 for the new condenser.

PS I think any time someone introduces themselves on the site and has an 04 or 05 rx8 I am gonna say, "Welcome to the site, buy some racing screens and save yourself the hassle!" I

I figure while I have the front bumper off I will install my new AEM cai too and kill two birds with one stone.

sounds like a plan.

man you got lucky, glad it got worked out in the end

I think the 05s and newer come with a protective screen that covers the bottom half of the condenser. The RB sreens are much better. Let us know how the install goes.

oh yeah. Install the screens first. The AEM gets in the way a little bit of one of the 10mm bolts that hold the condenser in and makes it a little bit harder to install if the AEM is done first.

only some of the 05 do, i have an 05 and i had no screen at all

eastsurf84 03-05-2007 06:50 PM

Yeah, I must have an earlier model 05 as well. The service manager and I went out and checked some others on the lot, only the 06/07's had them

New Yorker 03-05-2007 07:06 PM

As I recall, it was just the last few '05s that got them.

SSpyder 03-05-2007 07:35 PM

My 05 came with it, must have been last of 05

Mazurfer 03-05-2007 08:24 PM

My 05 has it as well. I seem to recall it was made in Oct., but I'd have to check.

OnRails 03-05-2007 10:07 PM

My 05 has the screen. Born August of 2005

QBallz 03-05-2007 10:11 PM

My 05 doesn't, but it's build date is sometime in 04.

Good call with the screens and AEM intake. Mazda-Rati is absolutely right about doing the screens first. I put my AEM in first, and had to go back and undo a lot of it in order to tighten the top screws on the condenser screen

You'll love the AEM though, everyone says my car sounds like a Ferrari :)

eastsurf84 03-06-2007 07:05 PM

I cant wait, I hope the screens come soon. I would love to work on it this weekend.

Mazurfer 03-06-2007 07:08 PM

Waiting on mine as well! Hell, I already added them to my sig, they better get here!

NoOdLe BoY 03-07-2007 07:18 PM

a lil off topic but does the AEM cai have a better sound then MS cai?

zenmoused 03-07-2007 07:32 PM

They're the same intake, so I doubt the sound will vary.
