Dude, any authorized Greddy dealer can special order any Trust items. If you think Greddy/Trust really makes their own oil and this isn't rebadged (put any brand oil here), I've got a bridge...

They sell these in Hong Kong like hot cakes, and its not that expensive.

dunno why it cost so much over here in the states tho.

I wouldnt mind to try Greddy oil(Rebranded from someone) if its not that expensive.

Agreed. It's hard to believe that the relatively tiny projected sales of a rotary-engine sports car would have much impact on corporate CAFE numbers. And while CAFE was/is a concern, I suspect Mazda had a much bigger concern launching the 8: would it be reliable? Reliability woes on the last RX-7 probably made reliability a priority on the RX-8. I find it hard to believe Mazda would launch the 8 with engine tuning/oil recommendations that would increase the probability of engine problems - the thing I suspect Mazda feared most.

What's more, the logic behind "5W-20 is only recommended here and we're the only ones with engine problems" is faulty. First, it's not proven; it's circumstantial. But beyond that, there could be any number of variables in the North American market that might be the culprit: climate, driving habits, hell, maybe American owners don't bother to check the oil like other owners do - who knows what the significant variable is?? Finally, what about the ECU? Is it possible the ECU in NA cars is calibrated specifically for 5W-20, whereas the ECU in other countries is calibrated for 5W-30? If so, all the more reason to go with 5W-20. But even if ECU calibration is exactly the same, I have no reason not to follow the oil recommendation of Mazda's very talented engineers who, believe it or not, just might know more about this than most of the people here.
