Oil Injection Pump gone bad...

Oil Injection Pump gone bad...

The CEL came on after my g/f drove the car and admittedly stalled it a few times....Service dept says Oil Injection Pump is shot. Anyone heard of this part going bad? Should I seek out a new g/f who won't screw up my stuff? :p

The omp is just a rotating valve that varies the amount of oil entering the engine. It is not a pump at all. They can go bad since it is a motor. When the RX-7 omp's would go out, the car would be sent into limp mode.
