Oil change through the dipstick tube using a pump?
The other day I was bored on my commute flight and flipped through the pages of the SkyMall magazine. I saw an 'oil extractor' pump that allow changing the oil without raising the car, through the dipstick tube. Then I searched a bit on the net, and found some similar devices:

I was wondering: did anyone use such a thing? Does it work OK? It certainly seems to be an easy and non-messy way to do oil changes. Just not sure how effective it is and how much sludge would be pumped out, seeing that it sucks the oil out from above. On the plus side, maybe it's capable of pumping out the oil from the oil coolers which a regular oil drain method doesn't do?

It'll let you drain your oil with the flick of a lever. Since it drains from the bottom, sediments and stuff all drain out. If you suck up the fluids from the top, you aren't going to clean it out as well. Both methods will get out similar amount of oil - though you can jack up each side of the car to push out a little more oil from the coolers.

I am using a fliud extractor for mine. I change my oil every 1000 miles and filter every 3k. It is so easy with the extractor I just change it more often and dont worry about sediment. I will pull the drain plug every 10-15k.
