Oil Change
Well is that time where i need an oil change for my rx8, is there a DIY for this other than looking at the manual, any videos or pic some1 has posted that shows where the filter is and maybe easy steps i can take.. thank you!

its between the intake manifold and firewall. DIY??, you dont need insturction on how to change your oil unless your a newb

It's not rocket science. Most folks don't need a DIY to change the oil in their cars. Drain the oil from the pan, replace the filter, fill with oil and you're good to go. Let's not make a mountain out of a molehill.
On the other hand, I have learned two important things by following these oil change threads. Jacking up the car on the driver's side (North American) will drain more dirty oil from the pan than keeping the car level. Also, wrap the base of the filter with old rags and pop a small hole in the top of the old filter before removal. This will encourage the oil in the filter to empty back into the motor instead of all over the motor as you remove it.
You might also wait a while after you've run the motor until it cools off before you try to remove the filter by hand. I'm still nursing a fair sized burn on the back of my right wrist after removing my filter this weekend. I'm still not quite sure what I burned it on!

and from what i under stand jacking one side of the car up helps drain some of the oil out of the oil coolers, and i think that if you have the 6MT, you need to jack both sides up to drain both coolers.
