anybody got issues with Synthetic & Dealership who wants to try this ?
I can't do it cuz my engine warranty is already ova
For the price, yes it's a total waste of money
, but in Japan, it's fairly common, all these "special oil" almost always cost over a hundred bux for 4-5 Liters
I bought it just to shut those "anti synthetic/no to Synthetic/synthetic is bad for rotary" people's mouth, that's all
I already got my new engine ... coming to me this friday ... it's not for my NYC 8 though

it's just the argument that people think that it's better somehow, except you are still limited to 3k service intervals regardless of what the service manual sais.. the oil gets dirty much quicker in older engines so the oil must be changed more regularly and synthetic doesn't bypass that rule.
it could be argued it is better for turbos, but how many turbo 8's are there that don't get an engine every other year?

I have been using Penrite HPR 10 (10w 50 full synthetic) for over 2 years. I switched to full synthetic after installing the supercharger. I still do an oil change as soon as the oil gets dark which is around every 5000km

What you have just said is a load of rubbish.
Synthetic oil is well known by now to be far superior to mineral oil and you can easily go much longer then 3k service intervals. The only reason service intervals are still recommended at 3k, is that the oil companies want you to keep buying more of their products, and so do companies that do service changes. Infact if you use the right type of filter systems, you can basically get to the stage of never needing to change your oil. There are a few things involved with this of course, but anyone still doing 3k services with synthetic oil is either just wasting their money or using cheap and nasty filters.

^I use genuine Mazda oil filters. What do you recommend that is better than the genuine filter. I know some are using K&N filters.
I also have to be mindful of filter size as I have a remote mount filter and I can barely fit a clamp around the filter when doing a oil change. I do not believe I can fit a larger oil filter.

I use Amsoil Synthetic and I also use there oil filters. The larger oil filter you can fit the better. I use a remote mount as well and have an Amsoil eao36 filter fitted which is about twice the size of the standard oil filter.
Most OEM filters are basic paper filters.
As for air filters, I use a 2 stage filter setup and my car is turbo charged. What this basically means is I just clean the first stage of my air filter every now and then. The second stage basically never needs to be touched. The first stage is oil filled foam.
I change the oil in my RX8 about once a year, maybe longer.
Anyway I'm sorry that we are getting off topic, but it is good to see that mazda have an official Synthetic oil.

yeah....
Mazda never recommended the use of a 15w50 synthetic oil. Mazda recommends the use of a 0w30 synthetic oil and claims that this zero weight oil reduces deposits on the apex seals. Clean burning Zero weight oils are the only exception to Mazda's prohibition against the use of synthetic oils.
...
As I've said before:
Anyone that wants to argue that filthy dirty synthetic 4-stroke oil labeled as synthetic burns worse than filthy dirty synthetic 4-stroke oil not labeled as synthetic .... is really arguing a moot point.
Install a SOHN to stop injecting dirty oil that was never designed to be burnt, and start injecting clean oil that was designed to be burnt. Then pick your 4-stroke oil for the high stress, high temp, high sheer environment of the e-shaft bearings.
(Yes, all normally available consumer oils are synthetic, regardless of if they have it labeled as such or not. The "synthetic" label just means that there is a more expensive additive package that attempts to maintain the marketed viscosity longer)

Mazda "always recommend" using Mazda branded products. but for whatever reason, 90% of the people never listened to that. people tend to listen to "what they want to listen", not actual facts.
one more thing, most carbon u see in ur engine actually CAME STRAIGHT FROM THE GASOLINE, not engine oil.
