(Only fault they could find was the tire sensors, OEM tires and rims where replaced)

Have 4 fellow RX-8 drivers that can testify these results!

I was wondering when you were going to speak up

Luck.

The only foolproof way to do it is to get MazdaEdit or Versatuner and mask off those CELs.

They were actually wrong, but we were all in the early learning phase back then

stacking 2 spark plug defoulers with the top one drilled out so that the o2 sensor will screw in flush has worked for me on the rx8 and a number of other cars.

some codes say short or or broken circuit while others may throw a code for the reading being to lean or rich. Usually one that says short or circuit in it means the sensor it self is bad not sending any signal to the computer, in this case this o2 mod wont work for you. You need to have a functioning sensor plugged in then stacked out. If your catless and your getting efficiency codes then the idea of the defouler on the 02 is that its going to only be able to allow a small amount of air flow to the sensor and cause a stoich reading.
2 cents for yall take it or leave it.

Again, sometimes it will work, or work long enough not to get a code and pass a OBD2 test, or not at all. Results have varied a lot, so consider that you may end up SOL if it doesn't pan out. The best and most reliable method is software modification to block the code.

My tires make the sensor stay on. Tires are fine. Mazda wants me to pay to fix it and I can't see the use.

I tried three different length extenders and either got the same cat efficiency code, or with the longer ones it would switch to a slow response time code. Finally solved it with a metal spun high flow cat.

I wonder if he thinks the O2 sensor is the tire pressure sensor.

Cobb Accessport has worked flawlessly for me for years passing inspections in PA. I know they dont support it anymore, but it does what I bought it for and a bunch more.

They're no longer being sold but you can do the same stuff with MazdaEdit.
