Newbie - question on the Shinka's

Hey folks,

Just purchased an 05' Shinka approximately 3 weeks ago. So far I'm loving it -- but I had some concerns and hopefully you can help. I've been a loyal Toyota man since I purchased my first ride, I never had to really worry about clainking, vibrating, rattling, ish on my trucks.

Surfing through the posts on this site is really making me weary on my purchase. I've always been a fan of Mazda (their design and the whole rotary thing) but, this is all new to me. I was wondering if I should be aware of any "flashes" or TSB's out there for my ride?

Here are my issues:

1.) On cold starts, while on idle, I have this "rattling" sound by the driver-side----right behind the wheel. It goues away after am inute or so. ??

2.) Rough, rough idle's -- could this be related to an engine mount failure?

3.) "Popping" sound while I'm backing out and turning the wheel or while parking my car and turning in -- it's not very loud but a mild pop.

4.) Flashes? How do I know if I need them? The dealer said, "there's nothing listed under the vin you have..."

Any suggestions or fixes-- I'll greatly appreciate. Thanks again !!!

1. probably nothing but if it bugs you have it checked out.
2. what do you mean by rough? toyotas are so numb and insulated you could mearly be experiencing a sprots car for the first time. if you mean the shifter vibrates- that is because it isa directly connected to the tranny instead of thru some funny linkage to a front wheel drive vehicle
3. i need a better explanation
4. you dont need any flash. you'll kno wyou need it when its posted here in a tsb etc. or if you have a problem with your car.

Thanks for responding zoom --

As for the "popping" ---let's say more of a "thumping," again sometimes I don't even notice it. Maybe your right--this is my first sports car--- I think I'll take issue #1 to the dealer this week.

Thanks again for the responses !!
