new to rx8
hi people.
we have just got our first rx8, its a 54 plate 231 ps
when we test drove the car it was great no bangs rattles or anything
now after doing a couple hundred miles we have the engine man light on, also when it gets to around 2.500 - 4000 revs there is a strange sound a bit like a rattle as if a plate is loose or something, but above 4000 revs it fine.
also low revs it dont seem t pull away at speed,
is this a big prob i got,
the car was stood for couple month before i got it,
cheers

Nearest auto store to pull the codes. Also check the exhaust see if it shakes if you can knock it into the bottom. Is that the sound? if so adjust the rubber holders. sometimes the shift and cause exhaust rattle at certain RPMs, Ive had that issue. Also if you can get a compression test.
Low Rev power is common in Rx8 (no torque) usually no power until 4.5+

My turn!
Let ME guess this one!!
I can also guess that you are NOT in the USA nor Canada, I'm thinking UK, although you prefer to make us guess about that too......and I see you have a '54 plate' which does not tell me when the car was made, although you'd think it would.
So to sum up - we need the date of manufacture (from the doorpost), and we need you to get hold of a 30 quid OBD/CAN code reader and read what the car is trying to tell you, please.
