New replacement engine ?

hello all i just had my engine replace under warranty at my dealer, the engine seems to have less high end power (seems to bog out at 6000 rp) do you think the motor just needs to be broken in or is something not right with this engine. The engine runs great when im not gunning it. Any input apreciated

No, power drop as you get higher in revs is usually either coil failure of cat failure, though there are a few other issues. Coil failure it will become unstable in higher revs, cat failure it will act like it's being throttled and it doesn't think you have the pedal down as far as you do.

There are a few other options, but these are the two most common.

And coil failure usually leads directly to cat failure when ignored....

What was stated above by RIWWP is true. Also, keep in mind if this engine was just installed you should not be running 6000 rpm and higher.

Something to think about.

Paul.
