56000 = potential number of units affected

Isn't that the total worldwide production number since the beginning?

Don't assume that the other recalls have been performed.

At a local meet last summer, I looked under the hood of a car that was manufactured in August of '03, purchased in May of '04, and neither of the recalls had been performed according to the owner nor had he been reflashed to M. His VIN was right next to mine, which is why I know that he should have been covered, but there were no stickeres under the hood, nor did the tap test work to show an M flash. If I were you, I would check under your hood for the stickers telling you that the work has been performed or get it done.

Also, check the Owners section of the Official Mazda web-site, which should show you whether your car has recalls that are pending and have not been performed.

Stickers under the hood are meaningless. Not every dealer installs them after doing the work. Go to a dealer and have them run the VIN through the computer. That will tell if the recalls were performed and any other warranty and service work.

Actually, the stickers aren't meaningless. If they are there, then you can pretty much assume that the work was done. If they aren't there, then he should take the car in and have it checked and check on the Mazda website, which is exactly what I told the guy last year to do, and what this guy should do too. I am just pointing out that he should not assume that the work was already done in the same way that my friend last year should not have assumed that his car had been reflashed just because it was supposed to have been.
