NEW Engine...
NOOOOO.... im at 138000 miles and mazda told me today that i need a new engine...:banghead:... he said it can be done for like 4500... which last i heard it was 7000 or so and im like DAMN! i was wondering is this legit? if it is will the new engine qualify me for the 2012 warranty or am i just SOL?:dunno:

the price sounds right.
And no, your warranty has expired |
so even with a brand new engine it wouldnt put me back into warranty? sounds like a dumb question but i just wanna make sure
|
$7,000 sounds like the price for a NEW engine installed. $4,500 for a rebuilt.

However, I forgot to mention.... I think you have a 12 month/10k? mile warranty ;) |
^ No.

Any dealer install engine (assume your warranty is completely over) will give you (should give you) 12K miles or 1 year, whichever comes first warranty.
but at 7000, you can buy a COMPLETELY brand new engine that has a fully balanced race ready pair of rotors(light weight, snap ring locked gear, lighter weight counter weight(both)), extra cooling fins on the rotor housing, and lots of other engine stuff. + another 1K something to the price you can even get Iannetti Ceramic Apex seal. so if its 7000 for a rebuilld, tell them to go f-themselves if its 4500 installed, that sounds reasonable. |
Thanx for your post

The rep on Mazda rebuilds around here isn't good. If your present motor isn't completely destroyed, it's likely both cheaper and better to get one with Mazmart or Rotary Resurrection.
