Are these still being made? The http://www.twistedrotors.com/ site is still up; but any attempt to place an order through results in Paypal saying they are out of stock (either the blue display or the green display version).

UK Making similar in UK

Hi all,
I found this thread and thought what a great idea, and then realised no one had posted in 2 years and the whole thing might be dead.
I don't know if anyone has found an alternative for a similar budget, but I am in the UK and apart from the $400+ ones I cant fin anything.
My brother is an electronics engineer and we reckon we can make a good digital tester for rotaries sub £200 (GBP) so $300.
I would be interested to see if you guys think there is still a demand for this.
We are going to make a one off anyway, cos I just took a punt on a 05 192BHP "8", and want to know how long before I might have to take the engine out!! (I know I should have got a test first!!!!)
So I will keep you all informed if you wish? And if there is interest I'll start a new thread with the full spec etc.
Please let me know everyone!!
Cheers!

This unit is out of production but there is a second generation unit that is being mfg. Do a little searching. He hangs out on the 7 club thread also.

I have the version 2. His website went down about the same time a bunch of people were complaining on it about late delivery in the v2 group buy. No word from him since then. There are other, perhaps better, options however:

You have a price and/or part number? Wonder if it's still available?

Jackson, it is important you change the batteries every few years, as I did with my new one..

About $1600 from Mazda....and yes they are still available, new.

This is the part number that they use 0000-09-0211

and they will have to order thru the M-store system.

Well, I just got the compression tester a short while ago, it should be good for another year or so.

Yup, just something you should keep an eye on, very easy to renew the batteries.

While our Oz currency is at an all time high against the USD, I decided to invest (with a few other local Mazda enthusiasts) in Mazda's 'genuine' tester, that is IDS (MMDS) with genuine software and VCM pass through, so now we can see all.

There is a lot to take in (learn)....module re-programming/calibrating, in-codes and out-codes....DTC's, PATS, full data logging, etc, etc.

Anyway, we will be offering a local service (for a small fee) for any Mazda owner from about 1996 onwards...also Ford is no longer shared with Mazda IDS and visa versa.
