Need new wheel bearing

04 GT MT Rx8.

81,XXX miles.

The driver side rear wheel has excessive play in it and its howling in the cabin (unless I turn right )

Quick question, where's the best place to get a new one at a fair price? Any forum vendors on here tht I could go through?

Just looking for some insight, this is a new issue I would like to tackle quickly...

hmm... not bad. I havent voided out going to the Dealer, and Im friends with a parts dept employee at our local dealer so I get decent discounts. Just checking with everyone else for suggestions.

$77 sounds really cheap......

I never really thought wheel bearings were an issue on our car until relatively recently when a few cases have popped up, interesting...

There's a bit of labor involved in replacing the rear wheel bearing. You have to remove the rear upright assembly, press the hub assembly out of it, press the bearing sections out of the upright and off the hub, then press the new bearing into the upright, press the hub into the bearing, and then reinstall it back on the car.

Need to order that Hydraulic press first tho. 110 bux, not too bad I guess.

Hate to sound dumb, but would it be more beneficial to purchase a new hub all together? Just a suggestion I received from some local Mazda folks around here (granted they drive MSP's and MS3's).
