What speed (or gear) were you driving at 6500rpm when you shifted to 2nd?

Time to go erase all your posts about dumping your clutch, wearing your tires out prematurely and drifting around neighborhood corners before Mazda finds out.

I don't know how old you are, but hopefully you have learned to never tempt fate with a statement like that.

I'm not trying to scare anybody or say there are "mazda agents" on this board but I know of at least 1 (maybe more) people that have been declined warranty for stuff they actually said here. His car is easily visually identifable, his location, etc, etc, etc...

Anyway... My statement is more of an ironic "zing" towards the poster about the tons of stuff stuff he's written under his "multiple" login ID's. In fact, I hope he gets it sorted out and gets his 8 fixed and back on the road.

Truemagellen, that pic can be construed and taken more personally than your intention, probably not so cool... bad form my man...

Thats pretty retarded.

Is the car stock? No power adders to destroy the tranny (read FI)?

How many miles on the beast?

That's interesting... I remember you saying this voided warranty thing - but how can that be for doing 100 MPH? That can not be considered some serious abuse... that would mean almost every RX-8 owner in Germany could probably get the same treatment seeing that on many sections of the Autobahn there's no speed limit
Also, how is it possible not to qualify for flashes? Will they not perform the complete heat insulation recall for you? That sounds retarded... I don't think they can do that.

Can't go over 100! Or void the warranty, that is gay. I mean we do it all the time in the 1/4.

100mph? Haha... Mazda made a car that can't even be driven on I-95 without voiding the warranty!

If this really is the case, then why don't they just put limiters on the car.. or make mention of such thing in their manuals. Otherwise, I don't see how they could just up and void a warranty.. Hell, the "limiter" I believe is set at the high 140's.. It'll hit 140 no problem

Wow man that does not look good for Mazda voiding peoples warranty for doing 100mph, looks like they will do anything to save themselves some money, are they expecting so many problems with this car that these kind of tactics are deemed necessary?, I bet they lost you as a customer for life, I'm looking to get an RX-8 seeing the company behave like that does not make me want to buy their car.

Did that come from some idiot dealer or did you take it up with Mazda corp. and get the same response?

If that came from corporate then I don’t want to buy a car from such a shady company, I mean they know damn well the car was made to do those speeds, and there just scamming you out of a warranty.

And I just remembered how there saying that not revving the engine on the automatics to clean out the carbon deposits is one of the reasons for all of the engine failures they have been having, in this sense going 100 mph every so often is actually good for the engine.

OMG they really are hypocritical bastards, that makes me so mad I think I’m going to go out and get a 06 WRX, I was thinking I could live with the problems this car is having as long as I though I could trust Mazda to step up and cover their own problems through the warranty, but looking at your experience I highly doubt that is the case.

Not too hard. People post pics of themselves with their cars complete with plate numbers. Wouldn't take alot to figure it out. Really all a service manager in your area would have to do is compare plate numbers posted here with numbers in their records.

Of course, if I were a real jerk I could brag about reenacting the Dukes of Hazard movie in my RX-8 (jap flag on top, "Admiral Yamamoto" on the side), and post a picture of someone else's car. If they ever pull a stunt like that, laugh in their faces and tell them an internet post means nothing, that your car's pics have been circulating all over the internet for ages.
