My car is shutting down
Hello guys i have a 04 AT rx8. I live in a hot country, when i drive in heavy traffic for long periods my car would shut down and after a few minutes start. I Think its a cooling issue, not sure. HELP.

Fuel pump.
Reason:
Typical issue with our fuel pumps that they begin to fail, and as they fail they start overheating. They shut off and stop pumping fuel when the temp reaches a threshhold. Attempting to start before it has cooled down produces no results because it won't pump. Letting the car sit for a bit to let the pump cool through simple radiation of heat energy will allow you to start again.
Until you replace the fuel pump, do NOT go full throttle. I'd even keep it under 4k RPM. If the fuel pump shuts off at the wrong time while under full throttle, the sudden lean condition can destroy the engine. It has happened quite a bit. One owner I know lost their engine this way, the dealer replaced the engine but not the fuel pump, the newly replaced engine was destroyed by the fuel pump doing this within a couple hours of the install.

Can also be a plugged filter on the bottom of the pump.
If the pump itself is the prob, you just need a 'Walbro 342' type pump, there are lots of pumps that will fit, same pump as the 1994 RX7.
