These engines burn some oil because thats how they are designed, but how often do you need to put oil in it and which one is ideal

 

I've only had once that I had to 'add oil' between oil changes. It was during a long road-trip, most of which was in the triple digits. The oil light came on, I added a quart, and went on my way.

Other than that, I just do oil changes @ 3k-4k miles, and thats it.
