Moisture in tailight:

The first one replaced was on Mazda. Anyone have this problem and was it difficult to repair doing it yourself?

It's a TSB. If you're out of warranty you just need to buy a new... ?gasket? from Mazda to seal the light or go uber DIY and randomly drill holes in the bottom of your light fixture hoping to get the part where its pooling. The latter method has seen mixed success. The former is advisable. Buy it straight from Mazda.

And NY is right. Search for tail light, taillight condensation, moisture, water, rear light, etc. There's probably at least 10 posts with each spelling asking for help and probably several hundred threads dealing with it.

There are really good instructions on how to remove your tail light assembly on this site. Mine did the same thing. I bought a new gasket and a tube of clear silicone sealer. When I removed the light I found that the gasket had pulled away from the rear panel allowing water to seep in from the top below the trunk lid. I cleaned it with alcohol and ran a bead of silicone along the top edge where the gasket contacts the panel. I did not drill any holes in my light. If you get it sealed well you don't need weep holes. It has been 2 years and my light is still dry and clear. Good luck..
