Mirror Disassembly help request

I want to install "home-grown" puddle lights in my external mirrors.
I have found the DIY to remove the mirror assembly from my car.
I need help with disassembly of the mirror from its housing.
Anyone know how to do this without breaking the mirror?
Thanks in advance for your expertise!
Al

Arrow No way round it.....

You gotta PULL. Both Canzoomer and derwankel make home-grown kits for installing these.

It's a ball joint, you turn the mirror all the way"out" until you get room to grab/lever the edge, then pull the mirror out of its socket!

Make sure the whole assembly is warm when you try it! Good luck!

Do a search. I posted the shop manual pages that show how to do that. I'll see if I can find the thread.
