might have mucked up my oil line fitting :(

I got a racing beat stainless steel braided oil cooler line set. When trying to install them to the engine and cooler, I wanted the connector to swivel with respect to the hose. And it was very hard to swivel - so I loosened the blue nut right next to the red collar

see pic of fitting here:

And now I think I might have loosened the fitting from the hose ??

Someone please help. I tightened that nut back onto the red collar - but did not tighten it fully yet. Something doesn't look right - I think I am seeing more threads on the connector than before when I loosened it - which leads me to believe the metal connector is partially out of the flexible rubber/stainless hose??

I dont know the internals of the swivel type hose end - most of the searches online show me the other kinds of connectors but not the one where the connector swivels with respect to the hose.

Attached a pic of the connector as installed.

hmm - looks like the hose end is stamped with the manufacturer's name - earls
form their site got this pdf which is prolly telling me that I need to reinstall the hose ends - gah !

I would like to hear people's experience with this though - will probably save me a lot of trouble.

one more point for you guys - when i tighten the nut, it gets very tight without going all the way to the red collar / socket - which I think might mean that the metal connector has bitten into the rubber hose inside - which is prolly a good thing for me.

If it kept turning without force - then that would probably have meant i was pushing the stainless hose out ?
