Mazdaspeed wing performance?

Hey guys, sorry if I'm posting something that's been talked about, but I wasn't able to find a thread about this.

Anyone know what the Mazdaspeed wing does to performance? Does it help with acceleration/traction? Does it lower the top speed? I care about handling quite a bit, and am considering a wing if it actually makes a difference. So..what are your guys' experiences?

I see now that perhaps I should have placed this in exterior..etc, however I thought the technical nature of the question lent itself to this section. I read up on how rear wings work, and I've ascertained that generally the downforce they create outweighs the drag it puts on the car at about 70 mph... is this about right?

Takuya says it improves braking too after he adjusted to 5 degrees

the best is a carbon fibre GT wing

best downforce/weight ratio

it just looks funny thats all

the main point of the Wing is that it has been Wind Tunnel tested(by Mazdaspeed of course) and it helps to improve the airflow + increasing the downforce.

The GT wing is better, but I think its illegal in Japan to have stock factory cars to have stock rear spoiler thats bigger than the car's body itself. Aftermarket is another thing. Thats one of the reason why the Rx-7 Spirit R's Wing was disconuntine so quickly.

1st, read up on aerodynamics to get a better understanding of how and when aero bits do you any good at a particular track. A rear wing gives you more downforce in the rear, depending on how it's set and how fast the corner is. In turns below about 70mph, it does nothing for you. In higher-speed turns, it gives you more rear downforce to keep from oversteering (if high-speed oversteer is a problem on that particular turn). In the straights, it will hurt your top-end speed due to extra drag -- but, if there are a lot of high-speed turns, you should end up with a lower lap time.
