Mazda RX8 can't start engine

I have bought a Mazda RX8 2004 LA SE 3P (AUTO), installed engine Mazda RX7 1992 13B FD3S (MANUAL) wth ECU PFC (FC9).

All the engine already swap in my RX8, and now the problem I facing is about the wiring connection. I haven't yet able to start my engine at all. How do I set for my wiring connection for my rx8.

Any tips or guide for me to make my engine starts for the first time...

Please help...

You've gotten as far as installing a 13B-REW and you're just now wondering how to get it wired up? Don't you think this should have been something you thought about before deciding to swap in a new motor?

Adaptronic e1280s

Adaptronic e1280s | Adaptronic - Take Control

And a custom gauge cluster.

That's all I got... perhaps there's someone who has done better ... perhaps you'll find them on rx7club or rotary car club.

Sorry M8, but none of the RX-8 wiring harnesses or connectors or ECU (PCM) and Modules will work for a REW (FD) ...

The only electrical (engine) parts which is the exact same part is the E-Shaft Timing Sensor or Crank Angle Sensor N3A1-18-221A.

Every other part (Ignition Coils, Igniter (FD)) are again not the same.

To get it to work correctly you would have to replace every wiring loom and modules from the RX-7 over to the RX-8.
Then you also have the issue with the RX-8 ESP (Electric Power Steering, Rack and PS-ECU or Computer), ABS is also not the same for DSC.

Then you move into interior, again you would have to try and install ALL RX-7 modules and wiring looms, it does not have the same PATS (Immobilizer System)...and a completely different OBD (On Board Diagnostics System and connections).

Basically you are in a mess...you could try what ShellDude said, I don't know anyone who has done this yet, however, you might find someone who has attempted it...good luck there also.

I believe there is a Select for RX7 too... a little cheaper than the 1280 but I'm pretty sure he'd need an RX7 ECU. I too just don't see this happening.

Hey buddy, welcome to the club. We are happy to help you with all of your RX-8 problems. I suggest you research the REW swap threads on this site and look at the posts regarding wiring. But to run the REW in an RX-8 and still retain many of the stock RX-8 components then you need to use an RX-8 ECU and an aftermarket stand alone ECU in conjunction with each other. There are a couple of different ways to do this.

But if you have any more detailed questions I suggest you send a personal message to any of the moderators like, RIWWP, etc. and they will be glad to help you figure this out or point you in the right direction.

Oh I am sure he will have many more RX-8 related questions and on rx7club.com they would not be able to assist with electrical issues related to an REW swap into an RX-8 much. Besides, we don't want to push people away to other sites, we need to try and assist them here.

i dunno, the power FC is basically a programmable stock computer for the FD, so it'll run the engine with power and ground hooked up (and maybe a sensor or three), but it won't run anything on the Rx8....

so its like trying to run a brick with a blender...
