Low power at under 4000 rpm

Hi I have a 2007 rx8 29000 miles, Ive started having a problem with low power until it hits around 4000 rpm, the engine also sounds slightly deeper in noise. I recently had a service at a mazda dearlership and been Having problems ever since, I took my car back to the garage and they said there's nothing wrong with it! Also does anyone know of any rx8 mechanics in the Hertfordshire/Bedfordshire area? As don't want to take my car back to the same USELESS garage!!

From what you described, there isn't a problem here. Our peak power still isn't for another 4,000rpm after that. The normal power band doesn't start until 4,000rpm to begin with.

You got a somewhat shortened version in the other thread you asked this same question in.

Unless you have a more specificc description or complaint, the dealership is indeed correct that it's normal.

I know that rx8s have there power at high revs. The loss of power i'm getting is a lot different than before it got serviced. the engine noise is also different.

I noticed a loss of low rpm power and a low, lugging rumble until midrange rpms a while back. I checked my ecu codes and saw reports of misfires, so I ended up replacing plugs and coils. They were toast, and now the car runs well again.

I suggest you have your ecu codes checked. You can have it done at a lot of auto parts stores if you don't have the equipment yourself. When were the plugs last changed? You don't want to let the ignition system fail, or it can fry your cat from the excess fuel.
