my remote quit workin(out of warranty).....when ordering a new one, which numbers have to match?....the model number?(41848),,,,KPU number(41805)....or the IC number, 42385A-12076

do these all have to match the remote i order?...if not, which numbers do i go by?

Are you sure it's the remote? Did you try another remote (assuming you got 2 with the car)? Did you try a new remote battery? Did you verify that your trunk is securely closed?

So, assuming you do need a new remote, you can pick one up on eBay for a lot less than purchasing from Mazda. As far as part numbers go, just verify all numbers with the seller for any remote for sale.

 

yeah man i checked all those ideas. even tried to reprgram it and i got nothing.....only got one remote when i got my 8...thanks for tryin though

 

Are you sure it's the remote itself and not the receiver?

Just brainstorming here. Try for example the trunk open button instead of lock/unlock. If it works then it's gotta be the receiver in the car. If not then likely the remote

 

man nothing works at all....its like the remote died and went to mazda heaven....lol.....

im gonna order a new one.....i hate not having it work

have you replaced the battery?

 

without two working remotes you wont be able to program a new smart key

laythor - do you have the programming sheets for the advance key for some the added features? ie windows roll down, doors auto lock
