Go to the dealer and get a valet key, it will need to be programmed first.
You will then be able to get another flipout key.
You have to have the valet key and 1 flipout before you get another flipout key.

how much is the valet key vs the switchblade key? My second flipout isn't programmed to the car and they want to charge me 90 bucks to program it to the car.

All that came with my 8 was two flip keys. The owner's manual describes an "advanced keyless" system for some models, where there's an auxiliary key that slides out of the keyless fob. It also describes the flip keys, mostly under "without advanced keyless..." No mention of a valet key. Since I've got a Sport model, I don't expect to have many of the "some model" features.

Which models came with a valet key?

this is not true. if its an 04 you would never have a flipout key to begin with. All you need is two single keys with one that is programmed for the car. If you only have one then yes, buy one from the dealer or have one cut and keep your other key in your dash if your cheap. You can upgrade to a flip-out if you have the funds and want to buy it and program it.

The 2004s came new with two transponder keys with two key fob remotes and one valet key (that would not open trunk or glovebox). You need two keys to program your ECU to accept another transponder key. You need one key fob remote to program another one.
I lost one key and fob, bought a switchblade key/remote on Ebay for around $60, paid a good locksmith (don't trust that type of key to the hardware store kid cutting keys) $8 to cut the blank. The switchblade key came with instructions to program the transponder and the remote. I used my remaining key and valet key to program the new key and my remaining fob to program the remote features on the switchblade. Going straight to the dealer would have cost over $200.
That said, you can get the 2004 style key for $10-$15 and the key fob for $25-$30 online. BUT you need two keys to program a new one. I would check and see what the dealer would charge for just a valet key cut and programmed (expect around $100). Then I would buy a new set or switchblade key online and do the rest myself.
