Just bought an 8, have a quick question

I bought an '04 6MT on Tuesday from a Subaru dealership and it unfortunately didn't come with the owner's manual. I'll make it out to a Mazda dealer to acquire one as soon as I get a chance, but I have what I hope is an easily answered question regarding a dashboard indicator.

Between the fuel guage and the engine temp, I perpetually have a small yellow icon that looks something like the letter U with an exclamation point inside of it. I have no idea what this means, but it doesn't seem particularly friendly. However, I've put about 50 miles on the car since driving it off the lot two days ago, and things largely seem fine to me.

Could someone tell me what this indicator means and how much I need to be concerned? I'd rather be driving out to a dealer just for a manual, not a repair Thanks in advance!

i can't remember clearly, but i believe it's the tpms (tire pressure monitoring system) indicator. your tires pressures are too low or you have aftermarket wheels on the car.

edit: oh, and there's nothing to worry about.

Napboy is correct, TPMS go check the air in the tires. What else did the dealer forget to give you? you have the wheel lock key & the extra ignition keys?? The link below is for the manual.

Haha - yep, I didn't get the wheel lock key, either The peril of buying pre-owned, I guess, but I did get it at a pretty good price. Thanks for the help guys, it's much appreciated.

OK, all new 8 owners are supposed to post PICS of their new rides - so get busy!

My wheel lock key is in my tire repair kit. Check to see if yours is in there.

:D

Definitely no wheel lock key in the tire repair kit, as I didn't get a tire repair kit. I knew that going in, the dealer mentioned that and I was okay with using my own gear for that, but I didn't know I'd need a key to remove the wheels until I started shopping around for winter tires. Not a crisis, I was planning to take her in for the ECU update anyway.
