JDM Spec Restoraton!

I heard that RX-8s in Japan get a higher power output than USDM cars..., and I also heard that this was because of emissions and the EPA castrating our cars!

What exactly did the EPA do? What can I do to restore it?

My car already looks "JDM". Time to make it mechanically JDM!

Not true.

They may have a slightly more aggressive computer program for fuel control, but not mechanically different.

Horsepower is measured/quoted slightly differently in Japan.

install a catless midpipe and get an accessport. Now you will have more power than the JDM.

agree, and it will be a lot cheaper than trying to import a foreign car and federalizing it.

A "Mechanically JDM" car would have a cat.

(Hello Kitty.....)

Faster or JDM?

Faster. I'm not JDM obsessed, but I was rather pissed to hear that some government agency castrated our cars!

New ECU calibrations have closed the gap between US and JDM tunes - the Racing Beat 'race' calibration is optimized as close as a plug'n'play tune could be.
